Let me tell you how I discovered Dannon Dollar Packs…and how I got a chance to actually talk to the folks at Dannon directly.

It started when I saw the commercial last week and loved the idea of dollar packs of yogurt so much I just had to call the folks at Dannon and tell them what I great idea I thought it was, so I picked up the phone and guess what, they were terrific and very easy to talk to.

Anyway, I got a chance to speak to Michael J. Neuwirth who it turns out is the
Senior Director of Public Relations at The Dannon Company & Danone Waters of America–very impressive–and here’s what he told me about the thinking behind Dannon’s Dollar Pack.

“As Americans continue to try to find ways to make food dollars go further, we challenged ourselves to make a great-tasting product that costs less.  Our Dollar Pack is also a good source of Calcium and Vitamin D because we wouldn’t sacrifice nutrition.”

You know, so many fast food places and discount places use the ‘dollar’ concept to help all of us who are really watching our own often dwindling dollars during these difficult economic times that it was really exciting to find a major food manufacturing company like Dannon taking this money saving idea right into the grocery store–where we all spend so much of our time and our hard-earned dollars. In fact, I bet they are the first ones to do it! Have you seen anyone else doing this?
