Fitness specialist and Kansas City KMBC coach Mitzi Dulan starts with some tips for healthy grocery shopping that won’t break the bank.Dulan said it’s important to stay within the perimeter of the store where the fresh food is kept. Dulan suggested buying fresh peppers to munch on at work, and to use avocados in sandwiches instead of mayonnaise. Dulan said berries are a sweet, nutritious snack, with one cup having only 60 calories.Next, Dulan headed to the meat counter and found a pound of fish for $4.99.”Protein is really important to keep your immune system strong and healthy. She said to avoid alcohol for the first two weeks of your program, and to choose foods that aren’t full of artificial ingredients. Read more.
